General Information

We are registered for 37 children split into 4 room’s dependant on age, ranging from 3 months to 5 years.  

We’re open from 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday and offers full and part-time care (a minimum of 3 sessions are required). We are open 51 weeks per year closing for Bank Holidays and a week over Christmas.

At 8.30am breakfast is offered and lunch at 12.30pm and a light tea at 4.00pm. The sessions also break morning and afternoon for water or milk and snack (biscuit or fruit) although water is on offer at all times. We also supply branded nappies.

Parking and Accommodation

At Nursery there is ample parking to the front of the building. The property is all on ground level.

The baby room caters for 9 children, from 3 month – 2 years.

The toddler room caters for 12 children, from the ages of 2-3 year.

The pre-school room for 16 children, 3-5 year.

There is also a shared development through play area, which the toddlers and pre-school children use daily for water and sand play, painting, cutting and sticking etc.

To the rear of the building there is a secure garden, for outdoor play which all children can use whatever the weather.

Opening Hours

The nursery is open Monday to Friday; 8.00am to 6.00pm.

Nursery Session Times:

Full Day Session 8:00am to 6:00pm
Morning Session 8:00am to 12:30pm
Lunch-time 12:30pm to 1:30pm
Afternoon Session 1:30pm to 6:00pm

Holidays

We are closed for all statutory bank holidays for which there is no reduction in fees. The nursery is also closed for one week at Christmas for which no fee is required. For all other holidays any nursery fees must still be paid (Christmas day and boxing day are the only bank holidays that are not paid for).

Notice

Four full weeks notice is required in writing should you wish to withdraw your child from Nursery.

Clothing

Come rain or shine activities will get messy inside and our therefore please do not send your child to nursery in their best clothing  Please provide your child with spare clothing and suitable outdoor wear i.e.  wellies and coats or sun hats and sun cream. If we are potty training your child please provide extra sets of clothes.

Toys and Valuables

We would request parents and children not to bring valuables/toys to the Nursery as everything that they need, will be provided for.

Emergency

The Nursery may if required remove any child from the nursery to hospital in the case of an emergency. You are required by law to ensure that the Nursery is kept up to date with your emergency contact numbers especially if there is a change in circumstances. Therefore please ensure that we have an emergency contact number at all times.

Sickness

Any child suffering from a doubtful rash, discharge from the eyes, diarrhea should be kept at home until a doctor has certified that the symptoms have disappeared. Should a child become sick at the Nursery every effort will be made to contact the parents. Children should not return to the Nursery until they have fully recovered. The Nursery must be informed of any illness, which may be dangerous to others. If in any doubt, see our health policy on the parent’s board.

Absence

It is important that the Nursery is advised if your child is going to be absent.
This can be done by telephoning 271076 or prior notice.

Medication

Prescribed and non-prescribed medicines should be signed in by parents and given to a member of staff to keep in our medicine cupboard. Any medication should also be signed out at the end of the day by the parent

Accidents

We try as hard as possible to keep nursery a safe environment, but as you know accidents can happen despite precautions. If your child has an accident at Nursery an accident form will be filled in by a member of staff (after hugs and a sympathetic ear) and signed by the parent at the end of the day. Of course you will be notified of any accidents and we will want to contact you immediately if your child needs to see a doctor.

Collecting your little ones

We like our Nursery to remain a safe and friendly environment for your little ones. Therefore if anyone other than nominated will be collecting your child from Nursery then it is essential that we are forewarned in the form of a signed letter.

Fees

All fees are due at least one week in advance paid by standing order. Standing Orders can be set up weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

The full fee is payable if for any reason your child is unable to attend Nursery.

We reserve the right to increase the fees at our discretion giving one months notice in writing.

Extra sessions or hours are subject to availability and can be agreed with Lindsey or Hayley.

Late collections

A charge of £2.50 is payable for every 5 minutes that you are late picking up your children.

Smiley Faces accepts the government grant which is available to all children the term after they are 3 years old. Offering children up to 5 sessions of 2.5 hours per week free. Grants are claimed through Nursery with your consent and your fees will be reduced accordingly. A birth certificate must be checked by nursery to do this. We will be happy to go through this in greater depth you should you require it.
